Friend,

Able SC is proud to partner with the SC Department of Social Services (SC DSS) to provide SNAP2Work services! The program's purpose is to help people who get SNAP (also known as food stamps) gain skills, training, work, or work experience. Through this assistance, you can be more independent and financially stable!

To qualify for Able SC's SNAP2Work program, you must be receiving SNAP benefits and have a disability. Since the goal of the program is to reduce the need for SNAP, participants must be seeking assistance with employment-related training and job searching. There is no minimum age requirement, but SNAP recipients ages 18-49 who do not have dependents may also volunteer to participate in the SNAP2Work program in order to satisfy the work requirement for time limited SNAP benefits.

Able SC employment services include:

  • Job search assistance
  • Planning ways to remove or reduce barriers to employment
  • Information on your rights under the ADA and other relevant laws
  • Benefits counseling to help you learn how working impacts SSI/SSDI
  • Career exploration
  • Resume assistance
  • Interview skills and practice
  • Connecting you to resources for small business assistance

Need other services that Able SC can't provide? No problem! You can sign up with more than one SNAP2Work provider and we can help connect you to other organizations that provide SNAP2Work services. Through your participation, you may also be eligible for additional supports and services through SC DSS like assistance with internet, transportation, child care, etc., to help you reach your employment goals
