Now available: FREE N95 masks at nationwide pharmacies.

Most of the pharmacies that have partnered with the federal government to distribute COVID vaccines are participating in the free mask program. A full list of those participating in the vaccination program is here, however not all individual locations of chain store pharmacies will be giving away masks. It is important for you to call ahead and ask if masks are available.

Staff at Able SC have called their local national pharmacy chain and have these tips:

  • When calling either press the prompted button for "general store questions," to speak to someone in that store. If you do not do this you may be accidentally sent to a national call center that will transfer you back to the store. Save some time with this tip!
  • Ask what times the pharmacist is in the store- in some stores staff who do not work in the pharmacy cannot give away the masks. Be prepared with this tip!

Don't forget these key tips about wearing N95 masks!

Why wear N95 masks?

A recent study found that people who wear N95 masks consistently were 83% less likely to get COVID-19!

Compared to other masks:

  • people who wear cloth masks were 56% less likely to get COVID-19
  • people who wear surgical masks were 66% less likely to get COVID-19
