Building an inclusive workplace

An inclusive business promotes equal employment opportunities for all individuals. That includes recruiting, hiring, retaining and promoting individuals with disabilities.

There are so many ways that your business can start building a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Check out a few simple ways to get started below.

Establish internal policies that prioritize hiring people with disabilities.

Ensure job announcements posted on job boards and on social/professional networking sites are in accessible formats.

Indicate that qualified individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply and that accommodations will be provided.

Confirm that interview locations are physically accessible.

Develop orientation and onboarding programs, career development programs, mentoring programs and employee resource groups for individuals with disabilities.
