TAKE ACTION!🚨 Did you know that South Carolina is eligible for $5 million in additional funding that would support individuals with disabilities living in the community, but the state has not claimed the funding yet?
This funding is for a program called Money Follows the Person (MFP). MFP is a Medicaid program that aims to transition older adults and individuals with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities out of long-term homes and into places where they can live independently, with the supports they need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, where long-term homes are hot spots for deadly outbreaks, it is more crucial than ever that the state supports programs that let disabled and older adults live in the home of their choosing, with the supports they need, rather than in a group setting.
Tell DHHS and your state officials to prioritize the health and safety of its citizens by applying for the $5 million in funding that we are ALREADY eligible for.
We have made the action process easy for you; just fill out the quick form below, customize your email script to your representatives, and then share on social media and encourage others to take action!
Now, consider sharing on social media as well. This will both grab the attention of your senators, and it will spread awareness about the issue!
